 Proton-M with Russian and Israeli satellites ready for launch

Today with the launch complex area 81 Baikonur launched launch vehicle (ILV) "Proton-M" with the upper block (RB), "Briz-M" and a cluster of spacecraft (SC) "Luch-5A" and "Amos-5".

At 15.26 GMT the staff was off the rocket motor third-stage separation and the head unit, which included RB "Breeze-M" spacecraft "Luch-5A" and "Amos-5." With the cruise propulsion system head unit is displayed on the reference orbit.

The Luch-5A satellite will provide communications with the Russian segment of the International Space Station.

Israel's AMOS-5 will join the satellite grouping of AMOS-2 and AMOS-3 to provide various satellite services to customers in the Middle East, Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Africa. Equipped with 18 C-band and 16 Ku-band transponders, the satellite has a life span of 15 years.
