Last week the crew of the International Space Station successfully extinguished virtual fire in their orbital outpost, Russian cosmonauts Dmitry Kondratiev told in his blog in Roscosmos web.

«We had a fire onboard training last week. The crew had to extinguish the fire in Japanese module of the ISS. The crew splits in three groups. The first one, together with the commander, talks to the Mission control teams and manages the actions. The second group extinguishes the fire, and the third group helps the second one”, Dmitry explains.

According to him, similar OBTs are run regularly in order to master the skills of the crew on different accidents in the station.

Dmitry notes that the crew this time was successful with extinguishing the fire, and the ground experts were satisfied with the training results.
