To promote the idea of a manned space program, an Iranian minister tweeted a photo that, in fact, was straight out of the Amazon web site.

The Iranian Minister of Information and Communication Technologies had a hard time on Twitter last week. To promote the idea of a manned space program for his country, Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi published on the social network a photo supposed to represent a space suit. The Iranian flag was embroidered on the silver outfit, but Internet users quickly felt the blow, says Al Arabiya.

Indeed, some quickly pointed out that the famous combination furiously resembled a Halloween costume available on Amazon for the modest sum of 23 dollars. It seems that the two logos on the front of the costume were clumsily camouflaged to make it a credible Iranian spacesuit.

Overflowing with sarcastic and / or dismayed reactions, Jahromi ended up apologizing last Wednesday. The minister said his team had "undeniably made a mistake in choosing the image." He also apologized to the "people and space scientists" of Iran. It must be said that this Jahromi blunder comes at a particularly bad time: on February 9, Tehran launched a new scientific observation satellite, Zafar, but failed to put it into orbit.
