In order to form ballistic conditions before launching into near-earth orbit and landing of the Soyuz MS-20 manned transport vehicle, the next correction of the orbit altitude of the International Space Station is planned for November 16, 2021.

International Space Station (ISS)

According to preliminary data from the ballistic and navigation support service of the TsNIIMash Flight Control Center (part of the Roscosmos State Corporation), at 20:40 Moscow time, a command will be issued and the engines of the Progress MS-18 transport cargo ship will be turned on, which will operate for 478 seconds. The average altitude of the station's orbit will increase by about 1.3 km and will be about 420.76 km above the Earth's surface.

The launch of the Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket with the Soyuz MS-20 manned spacecraft is scheduled for December 8, 2021. The flight to the International Space Station will last 12 days under a contract with Space Adventures. The commander of the prime crew is Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin, while Yusaku Maezawa, president of the Start Today corporation, and Yozo Hirano, Yusaku Maezawa's personal assistant, were appointed to the prime crew. Their stand-ins: Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Skvortsov and space flight participant Shchun Ogiso.
